More details have emerged regarding the woman accused of abducting two infants in Delta State.
According to reports, the suspect had been living with her boyfriend in Uzere, although the couple had not yet completed traditional marriage rites.
Investigations indicate that she allegedly first took the baby of a ticket seller. Days later, she reportedly returned and abducted another four-month-old baby belonging to a groundnut vendor before taking the child to Uzere.
Her actions allegedly raised suspicion, leading to her apprehension by residents and subsequent handover to law enforcement authorities.
In a positive development, both children have been safely reunited with their mothers. A photograph released after the reunion shows the two mothers holding their babies, while the suspect stands between them as police officers concluded the handover process.
The suspect has reportedly been transferred to Asaba, where she is expected to face further investigation and possible prosecution.
