The feasibility study will cover , economic, social, technical and environmental viability, the dredging requirements, port design, road, rail linkages, and private-sector financing models.

This is strategic infrastructure by Gov. Alex Otti's government in the β€œRebuild Abia” agenda for job creation, export competitiveness, long-term revenue and greater economic growth for Abia State, and will make Obeaku Port the third Nigeria functional port along this corridor alongside Onne and Ibom Deep Sea Port.

When the feasibility study is completed, it will determine federal approvals, investment structure and timelines.
