Adams Oshiomhole's revelations during the Senate probe have raised serious questions about the deep-rooted connections between political elites and Nigeria's oil sector.

One issue many Nigerians are asking is this: if powerful individuals have relatives and associates benefiting from key positions in strategic sectors, can investigations ever be truly independent?

The controversy surrounding the N210 trillion audit questions hanging over NNPCL has only intensified public interest. Critics argue that while ordinary Nigerians struggle daily, the children of the powerful allegedly secure opportunities in lucrative sectors, while the children of the poor are left to battle unemployment, hardship, or dangerous jobs with little hope of advancement.

The refusal of former NNPCL boss Mele Kyari to appear before the Senate committee has further fueled public debate. Many Nigerians now wonder whether accountability can be enforced equally when those in positions of authority may also have questions to answer.

The bigger issue is not personalities. It is transparency, accountability, and whether public institutions can investigate themselves without fear or favour.

Nigeria's resources belong to all Nigerians, not a privileged few.

Do you believe the Senate can conduct a truly independent investigation into the NNPCL controversy?
