Social commentator and activist Mark Chidiebere Justice, popularly known as JusticeCrack, has rejected claims made by the Minister of Defence, Christopher Gwabin Musa, alleging that he instructed military personnel to remove meat and other items from their meals to create the impression of poor welfare conditions.
In a statement, JusticeCrack described the allegation as false, insisting that he has no authority over military personnel and could not have directed serving officers to manipulate evidence of their feeding conditions.
According to him, the concerns about welfare did not originate from him. Rather, he said some military personnel reached out to express grievances regarding their living and working conditions, prompting him to draw public attention to the issue.
JusticeCrack maintained that his intervention was aimed at advocating for improved welfare, better working conditions, and greater support for members of the armed forces who continue to serve the nation under difficult circumstances.
He further expressed disappointment over the minister's remarks, arguing that making such allegations on national television without evidence could damage his reputation and misrepresent his intentions to the public.
The activist reiterated that his advocacy has consistently focused on accountability, transparency, good governance, and the welfare of Nigeria's security personnel.
The exchange has added a new dimension to the ongoing conversation about the welfare of military personnel and the responsibility of public officials and activists in shaping public discourse on national security matters.
