Residents of Oviri-Ogor Community in Ughelli, Delta State, were thrown into a heated controversy on Monday following reports of an alleged marital dispute involving a prominent community leader and his wife.
According to claims circulating on social media, the President-General of Otokutu Community in Agbarha, Ughelli, reportedly confronted his wife after receiving information suggesting she was involved in a relationship with another man identified as Muobo.
Sources alleged that the couple had experienced marital difficulties in the past, which reportedly led to a temporary separation. Although the woman was said to have later reconciled with her husband and returned to their matrimonial home, rumours continued to circulate that she maintained contact with the other man.
The situation reportedly escalated when the husband allegedly received fresh information about the alleged affair and decided to verify the claims himself.
Witnesses claim the incident sparked intense discussions among residents, with community members gathering to hear different sides of the story. As of the time of filing this report, there has been no official statement from any of the individuals involved, and the allegations remain unverified.
The incident has since generated widespread reactions on social media, with many Nigerians debating issues of trust, marriage, reconciliation, and community involvement in private family matters.
